Why is Bruce Banner back to normal in Shang-Chi?

Bruce Banner has been back to normal in the Shang-Chi movie because of a unique set of circumstances that have been presented in the movie. First, in the comics Bruce was killed off during the events of Civil War II and his death was later undone by the Other, the powerful shaman who serves as the keeper of the Elders of the Universe.

This allowed Bruce to be brought back to life and restored back to his human form. However, once he was brought back to life, he no longer had the powers of the Hulk and reverted to his normal human form.

The powers of the Other as well as powerful artifacts from the Elders of the Universe also played a role in Bruce’s return to normal. During the events of the movie, Shang-Chi finds that the Other has infiltrated the Ten Rings organization, a large criminal enterprise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Through the power of his artifacts and the combined efforts of Shang-Chi and his allies, the Other is able to successfully remove the gamma radiation that had been powering the Hulk, thus allowing Bruce to become Bruce Banner once again.

Despite Bruce’s human form returning, the effects of the gamma radiation still linger and are hinted to be explored in future movies. However, for the time being, the great scientist and Avenger, Doctor Bruce Banner, is back to his normal human self.
