In one episode, Maul confronts a captured Obi-Wan Kenobi and states that he knows that Kenobi is “the one he must kill” to get revenge on his “old master.” This could indicate that Maul believed Palpatine was his old master and knew that he had replaced him with a new apprentice, Darth Tyranus.
Additionally, in the final season of the Clone Wars, Maul is captured by Ahsoka Tano and reveals that he has seen a vision of the future where “everything that we’ve done has led to this moment,” and that “the Republic will be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire.” It is possible that Maul had some knowledge of Palpatine’s plan to take over the galaxy and establish himself as the Emperor.
It is not definitively known whether Maul knew that Palpatine was Sidious, but there are hints that suggest he may have had some knowledge or suspicions about his true identity. Regardless, Maul remained loyal to the Sith and carried out his mission to bring an end to the Jedi order.
