What are the levels at Starbucks?

Starbucks has four distinct levels within its organizational structure.

At the most basic level, there are the Baristas. This is often a part-time or entry-level position with the primary responsibility of making coffee and drinks for customers. Depending on the store, they may also restock supplies and clean.

The next level up is the Shift Supervisor. This person is responsible for the overall supervision of the store and all its employees during their shift. As such, they will oversee all operations, customer service and staff scheduling.

The Store Manager position is the next step and comes with a great deal of responsibility. Store Managers oversee the day-to-day operations of the store and its employees, as well as safety, customer service and sales.

A Store Manager must also maintain excellent communication with District Managers, who are responsible for multiple stores within an assigned regional area.

Finally, there is the Director of Operations. This person is responsible for managing all of the stores in their district and providing leadership and support to the individual Store Managers. The Director of Operations also coordinates with other departments, including the Human Resources, Marketing, and Finance departments.
