Employers want employees who can separate their personal life from their work life, as the focus should be on the job rather than outside issues.

It is also important to avoid speaking negatively about the job role you are applying for, or asking about things like the salary, benefits and hours too early on or in a tone that may suggest it’s the only thing you care about. While these subjects are likely to come up, talking about them before you’ve even established rapport with the interviewer might show a lack of passion for the opportunity as well as for the organization as a whole.
